We partnered with Microsoft to consolidate multiple platforms into a single editorial experience telling immersive stories about innovative uses of technology. Combining rich interactive storytelling, bespoke tools, and a system of reusable parts, the organization is able to tell powerful global stories of people and innovation in an equally inspired setting.

Microsoft’s brand was going through changes and Unlocked provided an opportunity to tell the stories that showcase the company’s innovative impact. Our ultimate challenge was to create an editorial site that used design to tell stories in a highly engaging creative way. 

Our design and development work prioritized creating the most expressive, and experiential experiences. We broke from the component build structure, while still relying on the design system and its elements, to build out bespoke pages. Simultaneously, we leaned into our component library for the more common pages. This helped us balance where we wanted to emphasize our attention and creation while still giving content creators tools to help them publish quickly and consistently.
